Break Out For Spring Break!

Spring Break is right around the corner, which means one solid week of lounging, tanning or traveling to your little heart's content. When the temperatures finally start to rise a little bit, I get an instant rush of Spring Fever. It's like Happy Hour; it's going to happen. I immediately begin daydreaming of new Vera Bradley towels that are freshly monogramed, plaid shorts and the changing of the closet.

Don't pretend like you're not familiar with the changing of the closet. The changing takes place when you happily toss your heavy, officially-tired-out winter clothing into a huge Tupperware box and shove it into the attic, basement, spare closet, or under the bed all in the name of pretty Spring/Summer clothes in fresh, bright colors.

If you're unsure of what you want to begin with when you christen your freshly changed closet, or if you've let the season sneak up on you, have no fear. I have a few suggestions from our latest arrivals.

Airy Dresses

With the temperatures surely to bypass these comfortable 70s to scalding and humid 90s before we can pack up our last pair of boots, we can compensate the insane weather with dresses in maxi and trapeze styles. A little sweater if it's chilly or not if it's warm, viola, instant gorgeousness.

Floral Shirts

Okay, flower prints in the Spring aren't exactly riveting, but if it's not broke, don't fix it. Perhaps try it in a Prairie or more Hippie style this time around though.

Mismatched

Some things shouldn't go together, like spotted leggings and a striped dress, but something things do, and then some thing shouldn't go together, but do. Be a little more whimsical this Spring with flowy materials and unexpected color selections and textures.

Whimsy Jewelry

I'm all for classic and standbys when it comes to jewelry, but sometimes you should jazz it up with an owl printed cuff or wire rings with shiny stones. Spring is for new beginnings. Don't stay stuck in a rut.

. . . . .

Also, I love me some baking when Spring rolls around. What about you?
